5 Breast Feeding Essentials
Before I had my first baby, I did a lot of research about breast feeding and things that helped others get through the first couple months of breast feeding. I feel that these products were very helpful in our breastfeeding journey and will be making sure I have these products for my next baby. I honestly can’t say enough good things about these products!
- Silverette Nursing cups – these hands down were life savers! I honestly do not think I would have made it as far in our nursing journey without them. I almost forgot I had them and my nipples were on fire. I put them on and within less than 24 hours my nipples were so much better, almost back to normal. They are made of 925 silver and have many benefits – natural antifungal, antibacterial, antimicrobial and also anti-inflammatory. It also helps to keep breast milk on your nipples from to help heal them as well.
- Earth Mama Nipple Butter – I used this nipple butter along with the nursing cups. The nursing cups say you do not have to use any cream or butters, but I did anyway. Either was the cups still worked because I had been using the nipple butter prior to the cups. I also like this nipple butter for the natural ingredients.
- Haaka pump – This thing was amazing! I used this on the other side while nursing to catch the letdown. I was able to get my supply started fairly well doing this. Also found out when I got a clogged duct that you can take the Haaka fill with warm water and 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt and it helps draw the clog out. This did not always work but it is worth a try if you’re in pain from a clog duct.
- Breast massager – I linked the one I have but there are many different brands you could choose from. I got this one because of the vibration but it also had heat, which all good things for a clogged duct. I would use this alone and also carefully with the Haaka trick as to not spill the water.
- Sunflower Lecithin – My sister had given me what she had left from her last kid. I started taking this when I got a clogged duct and then after took to prevent a clogged duct. It helps to loosen the fatty milk clog and improve milk flow. I took this along with all the other tricks for clogged ducts. Clogged duct pain is no joke, and you will literally try anything to get rid of it.
Love!!
Great suggestions!
