What I actually used in my hospital bag
Hello! We welcomed Eva Mae on 1/13/22 at 7:39 PM! I am excited to eventually share our birth story and all the products we are currently loving. But first, I thought I would share the items we packed, what we used and didn’t use in out hospital bags. I packed my husbands and I’s things in duffel bags and then packed baby’s in her diaper bag.
Mom’s Bag
- My bag was an old Vera Bradley duffel bag (similar to this one)
- 2-3 nursing friendly pajamas/gowns (this is what I wore in hospital the next couple days after delivery)
- Nursing bra
- Light weight robe
- Shoes for shower ( I used Crocs)
- Slip on shoes (Make sure the shoes you bring have the room for your foot to swell, my feet swelled so much my shoes almost didn’t fit)
- Nipple cream (I love this cream!)
- 2 extra long chargers and 2 wall plug ins (these I found at TJmaxx in store)
- Comfy going home outfit – Top and Pants
- 2 pairs of socks
Dad’s Bag
- I found a black duffel bag at TJmaxx and ordered a velcro patch that said #dadlife
- 2-3 comfy outfits
- Sweatshirt
- 2-3 socks and underwear
- Drinks/snacks
Baby’s Diaper Bag
- Baby’s diaper bag I found at Burkes Outlet a Steven Madden diaper bag
- 2 coming home outfits, one in size newborn and one in size 0-3
- Wooden birth announcement plaque
- Swaddle and matching hat (Here is the one I used)
- Newborn hats – Hat 1 and Hat 2
Definitely be sure to bring a pillow for you and your husband. I meant to grab them when we went to the hospital but forgot about it. Thankfully my parents brought them to the hospital. I only had two pillows in my room and they were super flat. We asked for more but they did not have any more available. Also bring your nursing pillow too. I brought my makeup bag but I did not put any makeup on while I was there.
